Be smart, play brilliant, and become versed in craps the right way!

Games that use dice and the dice themselves goes all the way back to the Middle Eastern Crusades, but modern craps is just about one hundred years old. Current craps come about from the 12th Century Anglo game referred to as Hazard. Nobody knows for sure the birth of the game, however Hazard is said to have been created by the Englishman, Sir William of Tyre, in the 12th century. It’s presumed that Sir William’s paladins bet on Hazard amid a siege on the citadel Hazarth in 1125 AD. The title Hazard was gotten from the fortress’s name.

Early French colonists brought the game Hazard to Canada. In the 18th century, when exiled by the English, the French moved down south and settled in southern Louisiana where they after a while became known as Cajuns. When they departed Acadia, they took their favored game, Hazard, along. The Cajuns streamlined the game and made it mathematically fair. It’s believed that the Cajuns adjusted the title to craps, which was acquired from the term for the losing toss of 2 in the game of Hazard, recognized as "crabs."

From Louisiana, the game extended to the Mississippi riverboats and all over the nation. Many think the dice builder John H. Winn as the creator of current craps. In 1907, Winn assembled the current craps setup. He added the Don’t Pass line so gamblers can wager on the dice to lose. Afterwords, he created the spaces for Place wagers and added the Big 6, Big 8, and Hardways.
