Dice and dice games goes all the way back to the Middle Eastern Crusades, but current craps is just about a century old. Current craps evolved from the old English game referred to as Hazard. Nobody absolutely knows the ancestry of the game, although Hazard is believed to have been invented by the Englishman, Sir William of Tyre, around the 12th century. It’s theorized that Sir William’s soldiers gambled on Hazard amid a siege on the castle Hazarth in 1125 AD. The title Hazard was gotten from the citadel’s name.
Early French colonizers brought the game Hazard to Canada. In the 1700s, when banished by the British, the French relocated down south and settled in southern Louisiana where they after a while became known as Cajuns.
